Artist's Comments

Chased 550 miles today. We got a late start and missed all the action near Turkey, TX by 30-60 minutes. And by "action", I mean a wall cloud and *possibly* a brief rope tornado.

On the way back to Norman, we were treated first to a beautiful full rainbow, and then this sight as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was a nice treat to an otherwise crappy chase.

This is a nine-frame panoramic. Download for a better look and a wallpaper-appropriate resolution. I recommend "fitting" it to your display (letterboxing), because the picture is so wide that when it fills your display, it cuts off all the good bits on the left and right of the composition.

I forgot to mention that this was my first Texas storm chase. The terrain varies so much out here!

It does. The caprock area is incredible.

hi hi

Wow, that is an incredible shot. I amazed at the color range you got out of it. Are those hailstones on the ground?
:iconbucky2k:
No hailstones here. I'm not sure what the white specks are.
